This CME-certified activity is intended for nephrologists who treat secondary
hyperparathyroidism in patients with chronic kidney disease.
Upon completing this multimedia CME activity, you should be able to:
- Describe the relationship between chronic kidney disease and secondary hyperparathyroidism.
- Identify and contrast treatment options used to treat secondary hyperparathyroidism in patients with chronic kidney disease.
- Discuss the survival benefit associated with active vitamin D therapy in dialysis patients.
Instructions
For each program in the multimedia CME activity, the learner should read the learning objectives and review the content in its entirety. After reviewing the material, the learner should complete the Activity Self-assessment Test consisting of a series of multiple-choice questions.
Upon successfully completing this activity as designed and achieving a passing score of 70% or higher on the Activity Self-assessment Test, participants will receive a continuing education credit letter awarding the appropriate credit.
Estimated time to complete this activity as designed is 1.0 hour.
